Profile

Dr Anne Dyer is a highly qualified academic, gaining her postgraduate qualifications in theology and missiology from the University of Bangor in Wales. Her BA is in areas related to theology, such as ancient history and archaeology, and she acquired a Diploma in Religious Knowledge from Cambridge. She has worked as a librarian for Mattersey Hall Christian College (Assemblies of God) since 2000 and was the personal assistant, producing a variety of books and articles with Pentecostal Theologian Professor William Kay, who had been her PhD supervisor. She has tutoring experience, teaching Pentecostal studies at Mattersey while supervising many a topic for MTH/ MA and DMin students, Missiology and related areas at Cliff Colleges and Ecclesiology at St John’s, Nottingham. She has been a Distance Learning tutor for external certificates through BA and MA students. Anne and her husband had practical experience in the ‘mission field’ as a missionary with OMF International in Thailand for 13 years. As a representative of the Sheffield/South Yorkshire District for the Methodist church in the UK, on the One Mission Forum encompassing global and local mission initiatives, she continues to promote missionary endeavours. She has also been a tutor for local preachers in the Doncaster Methodist circuit. Currently, she works independently. She has spent almost 20 years at Mattersey Hall as the Research Centre Manager, responsible for supervision at all levels of academic research. When that hall ceased operating as the Bible college for the Assemblies of God near Doncaster in 2020, she became independent as a tutor at large for several colleges and individual students. One such college is Trinity Bible College and Graduate School, North Dakota, where she has several PhD students to supervise through this globally influential college. Additionally, she was the co-editor of the Journal of the European Pentecostal Theological Association (JEPTA) 2004-2017. Hence, her research interests include Charismatic and Pentecostal History and Missiology. Anne and her husband Colin, have two adult children. She enjoys making and eating Thai food, playing her guitar for worship, and meeting people from diverse cultures.
