Enquiries for admissions on to our PG Cert in Theological Ministry Studies for September 2020 are currently open.

The programmes have specific requirements. However, all applicants on KST courses must meet the following requirements: 

  • English Language proficiency 
  • Leadership ministry experience 
  • A first degree or advanced/relevant academic studies

As the courses are designed for an international student body, all students are expected to possess good skills in written English. All applicants must meet the minimum English Language requirements (equivalent to UK GCSE grades 9-4). 

The English Language requirements can also be satisfied in the following ways: 

  • Successful completion of education in an English-speaking country. 
  • Successful completion of ‘A’ Levels in the medium of English. 
  • Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in the home country but awarded by recognised higher education institution/provider in an English-speaking country 

Alternatively, student can have the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.5, with not less than 5.5 in each component.

All applicants must be involved in leadership ministry. The programmes are designed for Christian ministers operating in the following capacity such as bishops, pastors (in any capacity), priests, missionaries, deacons, evangelists and chaplains. The courses also cater for those who are not engaged in pastoral ministry but involved in a senior capacity within a church or sacred related context.  

All applicants must have:  

  • An undergraduate honours degree or Grade Point Average (GPA) minimum of 3 based on the USA, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised higher education institution/provider.  

Or 

  • Evidence of advanced academic study or research in any subject from a recognised higher education institution/provider 

     Or   

  • Academic qualifications from a recognised higher education institution/provider in any of the broad areas of study such as Theology, Religious Studies, Missions, Pastoral Ministry, Ministry Studies and Chaplaincy. 
  • General entry requirements and the additional requirement below: 
  • Achieved a KST PG Cert (60 credits) in Theological Ministry Studies or equivalent PG Cert from a recognised higher education institution/provider in any of the broad areas of study such as Theology, Religious Studies, Missions, Pastoral Ministry, Ministry Studies and Chaplaincy. 

Applicants are considered on an individual basis and may be required to undertake a written exercise and a formal interview via Skype.  

Non-UK qualifications are checked against the National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC) for the UK NARIC is the National Agency responsible for providing information and advice to organisations on comparisons of qualifications from all over the world against UK qualifications.  (https://www.naric.org.uk/naric/Individuals/Compare%20Qualifications/default.aspx)
